Workspace and Org Management17% of the exam

Workspace access settings and multi-workspace membership

How one Enterprise org account reaches several workspaces: the Open, By Request, Invite Only and Hidden access settings, routing join requests, adding members and guests to another workspace, IdP-group workspaces people can't leave, Frontline limits, and removing someone from a workspace versus deactivating them.

Official exam objective
Given a scenario, determine how to manage a user account's access to multiple workspaces.

What the exam expects

  • Choose a workspace access setting (Open, By Request, Invite Only, Hidden) from visibility and joining requirements, and route By Request approvals to the right people.
  • Add an existing org member, a guest or a Frontline Member to another workspace by the correct route.
  • Explain why someone can't leave a workspace, and when an IdP group connection is the better way to manage workspace membership.
  • Distinguish removing a person from one workspace from deactivating their account in an Enterprise org.

Key terms:

  • Workspace access: the Workspace settings preference that decides how org members find and join a workspace.
  • Join or leave workspaces: the member menu for browsing, joining, requesting and leaving workspaces in an Enterprise org.
  • Default workspace: a workspace a member can't leave on their own, including any workspace they were added to through an IdP group.
  • Remove from workspace: a workspace-level action that keeps the person's account active in the org.
