Tableau products, editions and license roles

What the exam expects
- Map a business need to the Tableau product that does that job: authoring, hosting and sharing, data preparation, flow scheduling, public sharing, mobile or offline consumption, and metrics.
- Pick the lowest license role (Viewer, Explorer, Creator, or a Display license) that covers every stated action.
- Choose role-based or usage-based licensing for internal versus external audiences.
- Recommend an edition for the whole deployment and say which capabilities need Data Management or Advanced Management.
- Avoid retired features and frame adoption as organizational change, per Tableau Blueprint.
Key terms:
- License role: the per-user seat (Viewer, Explorer, Creator) that caps what a user can do.
- License edition: the bundle of features (Standard, Enterprise, Cloud+, Tableau+ Bundle, Server+) that applies to a deployment.
- Analytical impression: the usage unit counted for external Usage Viewers.
- Data Management: the feature set holding Tableau Catalog, Tableau Prep Conductor, virtual connections and data policies.
- Tableau Pulse: scoped metrics and insights delivered where people work.
