The Short Answer

The Salesforce Certified Agentforce Nonprofit Consultant exam (formerly Nonprofit Cloud Consultant) has 60 scored multiple-choice questions plus up to 5 unscored, a 105-minute time limit, a 65% passing score, a US$200 registration fee (US$100 to retake) and one prerequisite: the Salesforce Administrator certification. Its questions align to the Winter '25 release (checked in November 2026 against the official exam guide).

It's a consultant exam about the platform version of Salesforce for nonprofits: person accounts, Fundraising, Program and Case Management, Outcome Management and Grantmaking. The guide says outright that it doesn't cover the managed package products, so the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) answer is usually the wrong one.

A 65% score works out to 39 of the 60 scored questions. You have about 1.6 minutes for each of up to 65 items. For fees and retake rules across all Salesforce exams, see Salesforce certification cost and retake fees.

About the name change

Salesforce renamed the credential from Salesforce Certified Nonprofit Cloud Consultant (NPC) to Salesforce Certified Agentforce Nonprofit Consultant on July 24, 2026, according to the Certification Name Changes FAQ. The same FAQ says the rename doesn't change exam content or maintenance requirements, and you don't need to re-earn the certification.

Expect the old name to linger. The credential URL still reads nonprofitcloudconsultantnpc, and Salesforce Help still titles most product articles "Nonprofit Cloud". Treat the two names as the same product when you study.

Who the Exam Is For

The exam guide describes a consultant who designs Agentforce Nonprofit solutions and can lead their implementation inside a customer organization, with 2 to 5 years of experience with Salesforce solutions in a nonprofit context. It lists nonprofit domain expertise, implementation project management, data management and the software development lifecycle among the expected skills.

Typical roles include technical and functional consultants, business analysts, architects, technical leads and Salesforce Administrators at nonprofits. If you run NPSP today and are planning a move to the platform product, this exam tests exactly the decisions you'll face.

There's a separate Nonprofit Success Pack Consultant certification for the managed package. Pick the exam that matches the product your organization runs; this guide covers only the platform one.

The Four Exam Sections and What They Test

All weights and objectives come from the official outline.

SectionWeightAbout this many questions (of 60)
Nonprofit Implementation Strategy11%7
Solution Design32%19
Agentforce Nonprofit Setup22%13
Agentforce Nonprofit Feature Configuration35%21

Nonprofit Implementation Strategy (11%)

Common nonprofit requirements and business processes, plus running the implementation: vision and value maps, the project management lifecycle and business value. It's the smallest section, but it frames the scenarios everywhere else. Know how a fundraising team, a program team and a grantmaking team each measure success, and how you'd tie a feature back to that value.

Solution Design (32%)

Choosing between Agentforce Nonprofit, Salesforce Platform and third-party options, mapping the customer's processes to the data model, and recommending when to use Industries Common Features such as OmniStudio, Data Processing Engine, Action Plans and Dynamic Assessments.

Watch for:

  • The data model is not NPSP's. Salesforce's release notes for the platform product say it records people as Person Accounts, not just contacts on an account, and connects individuals and organizations with Party Relationship Groups. An answer built on NPSP households or NPSP Settings doesn't belong here.
  • Grantmaking can skip Person Accounts. The prerequisites page strongly recommends Person Accounts for Fundraising and Program Management, but says they aren't required for Grantmaking. A funder that grants almost entirely to organizations will likely do better with the Contact and Business Account model.
  • Care plan or action plan. Care plans hold goals, benefits and tasks for one person's case, built from a care plan template. You add tasks by connecting an action plan template to that care plan template. So an action plan is a task list; a care plan is the client's whole plan.

Agentforce Nonprofit Setup (22%)

Enabling features, assigning permission sets and permission set licenses, and configuring Stakeholder Management: person accounts, relationship objects and address management.

Watch for:

  • Prerequisites come first. The prerequisites page starts with enabling Person Accounts and setting up Group Memberships. Answers that enable a feature before its prerequisite are a common distractor.
  • Permission set groups for custom access. The security and permissions page recommends creating a custom permission set for org-specific permissions and adding it to a permission set group with the managed permission set, so users keep getting new product permissions. Editing the managed set isn't the answer.
  • License versus permission set. A user who can't see a feature may be missing the permission set license, not just the permission set. Read the scenario for which one was assigned.

Agentforce Nonprofit Feature Configuration (35%)

The biggest section: Fundraising (Gift Entry, Gift Commitments, Outreach Source Codes, Soft Credits, Gift Acknowledgements), Program, Case and Outcome Management (Action Plans, Care Plans, Interaction Summaries) and Grantmaking (Grantmaking Sites and the grant lifecycle).

Watch for:

  • Commitment schedules create the transactions. When you manage schedules on the Gift Commitment page, Fundraising creates or updates the gift transactions for you; otherwise you create them by hand. The Custom transaction period is only for commitments with a custom schedule type, like pledges, not recurring ones.
  • Soft credit, not split gift. A gift soft credit recognizes someone who influenced a gift, as a percentage or amount up to 100% of the transaction, with a role such as Matched Donor. Designations, by contrast, say where the money goes: on a gift commitment the default designation percentages must total 100 or less.
  • Source codes ride on campaigns. Outreach source codes extend standard campaigns so you can tell which appeal (a mailing, a web ad, an event) prompted a donation. If a scenario asks which channel of one campaign worked best, that's the feature.
  • Outcomes need indicators. The Outcome Management example links each outcome to an indicator definition through an indicator assignment, sets baseline and target values in indicator performance periods, and records indicator results. Know which object holds the target and which holds the result.

How It Differs From Other Consultant Exams

Most consultant exams test one cloud on the core CRM objects. This one tests an industry product built on Industries Common Features, so you need some OmniStudio, Data Processing Engine and assessment knowledge alongside nonprofit processes. The Omnistudio Consultant exam guide is useful background if those tools are new to you, though this exam only asks when to recommend them.

The other trap is the product line itself. Many nonprofit admins learned on NPSP, and their instincts (households, opportunity-based donations, contact-centric addresses) point to answers that are right for the package and wrong for this exam. Expect scenarios about a named nonprofit where every option sounds reasonable and only one fits the platform data model, the license the customer has, or the order of setup. Our guide to answering Salesforce scenario questions helps with the select-two and select-three items.

A Six-to-Eight-Week Study Plan

  1. Read the exam guide and score yourself. Rate each objective from 1 to 3. Our guide to using the exam outline to plan your study shows how to turn a 35% section into study hours.
  2. Take a baseline. Try the 18 free Agentforce Nonprofit Consultant practice questions to see the scenario style and find your weakest section.
  3. Work the official trailmix. The credential page links Salesforce's "Prepare for Your Salesforce Agentforce Nonprofit Consultant Certification" trailmix. Do the implementation-strategy modules early: they're short and set up the rest.
  4. Build it in a trial org. Enable Person Accounts and Group Memberships, then create a gift commitment with a recurring schedule, add a soft credit and a designation split, and tie a gift to an outreach source code.
  5. Model a program. Create a program with a benefit, enroll a participant, build a care plan from a template with an action plan, and set one outcome with an indicator and a target.
  6. List the NPSP differences. Write each NPSP habit you have next to its platform equivalent. Every line is a likely distractor.
  7. Practice under time. Book the exam when you're steadily above 65% and can explain why each wrong option fails.
