What the exam expects
- Choose standard, real-time, waterfall, dynamic or nested segments from a latency, exclusivity or reuse requirement.
- Configure standard versus rapid publish schedules and explain what can't be changed after creation.
- Read Segment Status and Publish Status values, and find who was in the last publish.
- Apply segment limits (9,950 active segments, 20 rapid, 50 filters per tab) and the composite-key join limitation.
- Lower segmentation credit use through schedule, lookback and nesting choices.
Key terms:
- Rapid Publish: a daily schedule at a 1-hour or 4-hour interval, chosen when the segment is created.
- Waterfall segment: a priority-ordered list of segments that yields mutually exclusive audiences.
- Dynamic segment: a segment with runtime placeholder filters whose results aren't stored in Segment Membership DMOs.
- Nested segment: an outer segment that reuses an inner segment.
- Segment Membership DMO: the object created or updated on each publish that records who is in the segment.
