External Services, Salesforce Connect and MuleSoft integrations
Choose between External Service agent actions, Salesforce Connect external objects, copying data and Apex from WSDL; secure callouts with named and external credentials; relate external objects; and guard destructive agent actions.
Explain the use cases and considerations for core Agentforce Service integrations, including third-party solutions and connections to external sources of data.

What the exam expects
- Choose the integration pattern from the requirement: an External Service agent action to act on a REST API, Salesforce Connect to view large external data in real time, a scheduled copy for trend analytics, Apex from WSDL for SOAP-only systems.
- Configure External Service actions: credentials, schema import and size limits, MuleSoft services, descriptions, default output, user confirmation, adding operations later.
- Secure callouts with named and external credentials, named principal or per-user, with no secrets in code.
- Configure Salesforce Connect: licensing, external data sources, validate and sync, writable external objects, lookup, external lookup and indirect lookup relationships, and limits.
Key terms: External Services (registers an OpenAPI schema and generates invocable actions); External Service (API) action (an agent action that calls an operation directly); external object (a Salesforce object mapped to an external table, read on demand); named credential (callout endpoint plus authentication in one definition); indirect lookup (relates an external child to a parent by a unique External ID field).
