What the exam expects

  • Print a worksheet or dashboard to PDF, and know which Print to PDF options change the output.
  • Choose between Worksheet > Copy > Image and Worksheet > Export > Image, and pick the image format.
  • Predict what File > Export as PowerPoint produces for worksheets, dashboards, hidden sheets and stories.
  • Open View Data from a mark, the Analysis menu or the Data Source page, read its tabs, and know what Download exports.
  • Recognize the Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud Download menu as the browser counterpart of these Desktop exports.

Key terms:

  • Print to PDF: the Desktop command that saves views as a PDF file instead of a printed copy.
  • Export Image: saves a view as a reusable BMP, JPEG, PNG or SVG file with chosen elements.
  • Export as PowerPoint: turns selected sheets into static PNG images on separate slides.
  • View Data window: a table of the rows and columns behind a mark, a view or a data source table.
  • Summary tab: the View Data tab showing the dimensions that define the view and the aggregated measures.
