Consulting and Implementation Strategies25% of the exam
Change management, training and success metrics
What a consultant settles before the build: baselined adoption and business metrics, an executive sponsor and change champions, a role-aware communication plan, role-based training with in-app reinforcement, user experience research, and UAT-based go-live readiness.
Prior to an implementation, assess user experience, communication plan, training, and change management, and establish metrics that measure success.

What the exam expects
- Define success metrics with the sponsor before the build: adoption measures plus business KPIs, each with a starting value to compare against.
- Plan change management: an executive sponsor, change champions drawn from the people whose work changes, and a documented case for change.
- Build a communication plan that tells each audience what changes for them, in plain language, backed by leadership and pilot stories.
- Choose training methods that scale (role-based, hands-on, train-the-trainer, recorded, in-app guidance) and the right training environment.
- Assess user experience by observing real work, then prove the design with usability testing and user acceptance testing before go-live.
Key terms:
- Adoption metric: evidence that users work in the system (logins, records created and updated, data quality).
- Business KPI: the outcome the project exists to move (win rate, pipeline, lead conversion).
- Baseline: the value of a metric before the change, so improvement can be shown.
- Change champion: an influential user who helps shape the solution and advocates it to peers.
- UAT (user acceptance testing): end-user testing in a sandbox that ends in a formal business sign-off before go-live.
