What the exam expects

  • Pick the Filter dialog tab (General include/exclude, Wildcard, Condition, Top or Bottom N) and predict how one filter's tabs combine.
  • Configure a measure filter: aggregation, then Range of Values, At Least, At Most or Special.
  • Keep or exclude marks, and know when those commands disappear.
  • Set filter card modes, Only Relevant Values and Customize options.
  • Context filters and multi-sheet or multi-source filters are in Context filters, order of operations and filter scope; first filter cards in the Desktop Foundations unit Dimension filters, filter cards and date filters.

Key terms:

  • Dimension filter: includes or excludes members of a discrete field.
  • Measure filter: keeps a range of aggregated values.
  • Top N filter: a limit relative to the other members of the field.
  • Only Relevant Values: a card lists only values passing the other filters.
