Omniscript group, input and action elements
How to configure Steps, Blocks and Edit Blocks, read the data JSON with merge fields, query records with Lookup and Type Ahead Blocks, collect and validate input, calculate with Formula, Set Values and Set Errors, choose actions, and route or call Apex with Navigate and Remote Actions.
Implement dynamic interactions using various Omniscript elements (Group, Actions, and Input elements to create an Omniscript).

What the exam expects
- Configure Steps, Blocks and Edit Blocks: button widths, repeat limits, modes and default actions.
- Write merge fields that reach nested and repeated nodes of the Omniscript data JSON.
- Configure a Lookup element and a Type Ahead Block so the query receives the user's input and returns label-value pairs.
- Calculate and validate with Formula, Set Values and Set Errors elements.
- Build conditional navigation with a Navigate Action and call Apex with a Remote Action.
Key terms: data JSON (the Omniscript's running data), merge field (a %path% reference to a data JSON node), Edit Block (a repeatable block for entries of one array), Navigate Action (opens a page reference), Remote Action (calls an Apex method with the data JSON as input).
Key facts
Array index in merge fields
- Detail
- Pipe plus number, such as |2 for the second entry
Hidden by conditional

- Detail
- Under 150 recommended; Label and Value use the full JSON path
SUM in a Formula
- Detail
- Precision defaults to two; use + inside ROUND

- Detail
- Mask shows the default error, not custom text; Pattern takes simple regex
