**Official exam objective:**

> Create and use filters: Apply filters to dimensions and measures; Configure filter settings including Top N, Bottom N, include, exclude, wildcard, and conditional; Add filters to context; Apply filters to multiple sheets and data sources.

## What the exam expects

- Pick the Filter dialog tab (General include/exclude, Wildcard, Condition, Top or Bottom N) and predict how one filter's tabs combine.
- Configure a measure filter: aggregation, then Range of Values, At Least, At Most or Special.
- Keep or exclude marks, and know when those commands disappear.
- Set filter card modes, Only Relevant Values and Customize options.
- Context filters and multi-sheet or multi-source filters are in Context filters, order of operations and filter scope; first filter cards in the Desktop Foundations unit Dimension filters, filter cards and date filters.

Key terms:
- **Dimension filter:** includes or excludes members of a discrete field.
- **Measure filter:** keeps a range of aggregated values.
- **Top N filter:** a limit relative to the other members of the field.
- **Only Relevant Values:** a card lists only values passing the other filters.
