# Integration Procedure caching: top-level and Cache Blocks

How to configure Org and Session cache for a whole Integration Procedure or for a Cache Block, how top-level caching overrides blocks, how Cache Keys and Cache Block Output are scoped, and how to test caching in Preview with ignoreCache and the vlcCache nodes.

## What the exam expects

- Configure top-level caching in the Procedure Configuration with a Salesforce Platform Cache Type and Time To Live In Minutes, and choose Org Cache or Session Cache from the data.
- Configure a Cache Block (cache type, Time To Live, Cache Keys, Cache Block Output, the three conditional formulas) and predict how top-level caching interacts with it.
- Test caching in the Preview tab with the ignoreCache and resetCache options, and read the vlcCache nodes in the output.
- Keep failed runs out of the cache, turn off the Scale Cache for sensitive data, and know which Connect API call clears which cache.

Key terms: **top-level caching** (caches the whole procedure's response), **Cache Block** (caches the output of the steps inside it), **Time To Live In Minutes** (how long cached data stays), **Cache Block Output** (key/value pairs from the block that later steps can read), **ignoreCache** (Preview option that neither clears nor saves cached data), **Scale Cache** (how Omnistudio implements Org and Session cache on Standard Runtime).
