**Official exam objective:**

> Given a scenario, identify when Business Units are required and configure an appropriate content and user governance model using roles and Enhanced CMS Workspaces.

## What the exam expects

- Decide whether a requirement needs business units or only marketing workspaces.
- Apply the one-to-one business unit and data space relationship, including what can never change afterwards.
- List what must exist before business units are turned on, and what happens to current users and content.
- Choose member roles and contributor roles for a stated level of access.
- Govern content across workspaces and units with sharing, common assets and channel assignment.

**Key terms.** *Business unit*: a division of the org that acts as a junction between data and content. *Data space*: the Data 360 partition that enforces a unit's data separation. *Marketing workspace*: the CMS workspace that stores marketing content. *Member role*: Marketer-Standard or Marketer-ReadOnly, set on the unit. *Contributor role*: Content Admin, Content Manager or Content Author, set on the workspace. *Common assets*: a library of content copies open to all units.

## Check yourself

- Why should each data space description include its business unit's name?
- When can a channel's assignment change without anyone unassigning it first?
- What can still be edited in an inactive unit, and what can't then run?
