What counts against an org's Experience Cloud page view, bandwidth and service request time allocations, what happens on an overage, and how site file limits and guest file uploads behave.

- Certification: Salesforce Experience Cloud Consultant
- Exam section: Customization Considerations and Limitations
- Study guide: https://www.certifyforce.com/study-guide/experience-cloud-consultant

**Official exam objective:**

> Explain limitations across all Experiences.

## What the exam expects

- Decide which requests count as page views (cached guest views do; system pages and API REST calls don't).
- Explain what happens when an org exceeds its page view allocation: the 12-month look-back, buying overages, and continued site access.
- State which traffic bandwidth and service request time measure, and their limits.
- Configure site file limits (size and type) and predict which site's limits apply to a file and its newer versions.
- Explain the risk of guest file uploads and the recommended controls.

Key terms:
- **Page view:** a request from a non-authenticated user to load a page associated with the site.
- **Bandwidth allocation:** megabytes served from origin and cache servers per rolling 24 hours per site.
- **Service request time:** server time spent generating site pages per rolling 24 hours.
- **Look-back period:** the 12 months Salesforce averages over when it calculates page view overages.
- **File limits:** a site's maximum upload size and allowed file extensions, set in Experience Workspaces.

## Key facts

| Fact | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Page view definition | A non-authenticated request to load a site page; cached views count | [Usage Allocation](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=networks_usage_allocation.htm&language=en_US&type=5) |
| Page view allocation | EE 500,000/month; UE and PE 1,000,000/month; all sites in the org share it | [Usage Allocation](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=networks_usage_allocation.htm&language=en_US&type=5) |
| Overage calculation | 12-month look-back; the site stays available to members and guests | [Usage Allocation](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=networks_usage_allocation.htm&language=en_US&type=5) |
| Bandwidth (production) | 40 GB per rolling 24 hours per site; guest traffic only | [Usage Allocation](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=networks_usage_allocation.htm&language=en_US&type=5) |

| Maximum file size setting | 3 MB to the org maximum; empty or 0 means the 2 GB default | [Limit Files](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?language=en_US&id=experience.networks_enable_file_limits.htm&type=5) |

## Check yourself

- Why doesn't a fully authenticated portal consume bandwidth or service request time?
- When does a guest's request for a login page count as a page view?
- Why can an internal agent fail to upload a new version of a file a customer added on a site?
- What should you add after enabling guest file uploads?
